Maxi-Cosi Pearl

In a Nutshell
The Pearl is the toddler-sized (ie Group 1) version of the firm’s popular Pebble seat and both employ the same Maxi-Cosi Isofix base (£129) which ekes more value from that investment.

Features
Unlike its smaller sibling, the Pearl cannot be attached with
a seatbelt, so check your car
 can accommodate this style
of mounting system. It’s sold
in a choice of eight different fabric styles.

Practicality
One benefit of Isofix is the
ease of transferring the seat between cars and, at 6kg,
the Pearl is no back-breaker. Better still, the base both
lights up and beeps to confirm correct installation.

Wow Factor
The harness straps pop to the sides once unbuckled, making
it child’s play to slip a flailing toddler into the seat. The height of the harness also cleverly adjusts as the headrest is raised.

Nit-picking
As with many Maxi-Cosi seats, the cover is hand-clean only and a fiddle to remove. The Pearl
is a safe choice, albeit that some of the newer models here offer even better safety results.
