In a Nutshell
Most cot beds tend to keep their original headboard or footboard – and sometimes both – once converted into a toddler bed but this one, unusually, is supplied with additional lower versions for each end.
A solid, if unspectacular, design. Fixed sides, but it does come with two teething rails. And once your child is old enough for their first bed you’ll appreciate that it can be neatly transformed into a genuine, good-looking low- slung toddler bed rather than something that is obviously just a cot without sides.
East Coast makes affordable, good quality, nursery furniture and the Katie is no exception, from its no-nonsense design to the three matress base positions.
Given the cot’s solid beech construction and that you gain longevity from the two extra end pieces it comes with for the bed conversion, the stunning detail here is the price.
The only real criticism of the Katie is that she’s available in any colour you like – so long as it’s beech. But that’s just quibbling.
