In a Nutshell
This recession-busting choice is a stroller with a ‘full lie-back’ seat, which makes this suitable from birth. It also includes a group 0+ car seat that clips on to form a basic travel system.
Aside from cost, the Monty’s main virtues are pleasant, wipe-clean fabrics and a decent chassis.
The hood is large, with a window – handy as the seat doesn’t alter for baby to face rearwards.
The pram weighs a mere 8.45kg and attaching the car seat doesn’t require any complex adjustments – but it is quite fiddly to do. The small plastic wheels are more suited to urban living.
The shopping basket is as generous as a kindly grandparent and the Monty is offered in cool Olive or Berry colours (as well as sedate Midnight), with a few high-visibility reflective panels.
Like any pushchair that reclines to a near-flat position, the Monty isn’t as comfy for a newborn as a proper carrycot option. It is also mildly bulky
once folded up.
