A family getaway to Lee Valley
Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone is nestled between the majestic Epping Forest in Essex and the bright lights of central London, and the multitude of fun activities available makes it a great destination for some family downtime
The site welcomes babies and tots and has a number of wooden cabins set in woodland surroundings that can sleep two adults and two children. They come equipped with all the comforts of home making them perfect for keeping warm as the temperature drops.
The wooden cabins cost just £45 a night making this a real budget-friendly option for visiting London and surrounding area. If you want to bring your home with you there are also pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes.
There's an array of baby-friendly activities to enjoy in the vicinity with miles of walking routes of all different lengths criss-crossing the picturesque Lee Valley Regional Park.
There are also plenty of family cycling opportunities nearby with safe, off-road cycling tracks exploring the local parkland. The nearby Gunpowder Park, as the name suggests, was once used for munitions, and is now a vast and beautiful open space perfect from some autumnal exploration.
The nearby River Lee Country Park also offers an abundance of open spaces, lakes and wildlife, along with a natural play area.
Lee Valley Park Farm is also nearby, perfect for children aged eight and under to meet all the farm animals, as well as the birds of prey and meerkats.
Autumn is the perfect time to visit the farms – between 24 October - 1 November there's going to be a trick or treat trail, pumpkin carving, tractor rides and face painting.
If you fancy venturing into the big smoke, your Sewardstone base even has a bus stop that can whisk you to central London in just 40 minutes.
