Tomy Digital TD300 Monitor

In a Nutshell
It’s easy to be seduced by the exotic features of some models, but this Tomy offers most of the genuinely useful ones – other than video
– and it’s well priced.

Features
You get pretty much all the good monitor features, including sound-activation that allows you to adjust the level at which an alarm is triggered. Handy for a noisy room.

Practicality
The parent unit’s built-in battery is said to last seven hours, yet there is no charging dock, just a mains cable. It offers a clear, graphical sound-meter but lacks a display. Reception and range are par for the course.

Wow Factor
The parent unit is surprisingly small, which makes it nice and portable for, say, a weekend away but it is also much more likely to slip down the back of the sofa.

Nit-picking
This Tomy monitor has no visual battery-level indicator (you’d get this if you upgrade to the slightly pricier TD350 model). Nor does it offer any lullabies to help sooth tots to sleep.
