This monitor has a bigger range than some cheaper models, at 200 metres, and has some attractive features, such as its 2 parent units. The fact that there are two portable parent units, is a strong selling point, as you might need to place one in the kitchen and one in the living room, if you are moving around a lot, for example, or maybe both you and your partner need one. There are sixteen channels to minimise interference, which is much higher than most, and for added convenience, a low battery indicator.

On a design level, the Phillips family monitor does not look like a sleek grown up gadget, but is rather more of an obvious piece of equipment that looks like it should do the job it does. It also comes with a night light and sound level lights, which mean you can see what your baby’s level of activity is like through the light display on the parent unit, in addition to the audio report.
