tandem buggies are good for newborns and toddlers, but can also be heavy- three wheeler versions are sometimes lighter and easier to steer- usually it depends on what price range you are looking at- you can get an all singing all dancing one but they can be quite costly. I had a tandem pushchair when my eldest was nearly two and second was born- but tried a side by side when second was 21months and third was born, it was a three wheeler and not too wide, very easy to steer and much lighter, it came with everything too- rain-cover foot muffs the lot and i loved it! this time though my third is almost three and hates being in a pushchair so we have bought a travel system as we got rid of car seat and everything thinking we weren't having anymore! would recommend Graco or Britax as they are great value and have all the safety features, both makes i have used before and customer service for Britax is excellent!

i know that it's not in the top 10 but i'd like to recomend my pram to everyone - it's a silvercross and i think it's amazing! at £300 it's a little pricey as it doesn't include a car seat (this can be purchased seperately if wanted but i didn't as it wouldn't fit in my car properly) but i think that its other features makes up for this - it's compact, lightweight, folds up and down like a dream, converts to a buggy once child reaches a certain weight (potentially you will get years of usage out of it) and finally the price includes a rain cover, cosytoe and changebag. i'd also recomend it to parents with small cars as it will fit perfectly into a small 3 door car (i spent 2 hours in mothercare trying to fit other prams/ travel systems into the boot of my nissan micra to no avail before i found the silvercross!). i'd also recomend mothercare as the best place to buy a pram/ carseat from as they let you take the said item out of the store (with supervision!) to see if it fits into you car ok with staff offering great advice.
