Quick Beauty Fixes for Busy Mums

Quick Beauty Fixes for Busy Mums

It's not easy making time for make up when you've got your hands full with your little one. But worry no more. We’ve picked our top beauty products that can easily be thrown in a bag and used all day… Whether it’s running to sports day, the supermarket or mother and baby groups, us mum’s want to look our best!

The secret to mum beauty is looking as less sleep-deprived acontentandcalm1.jpgs possible. Luckily, there are a few easy tricks to achieve this. Curling your eyelashes instantly makes you look awake, and is a great idea to brighten your face without applying makeup. A good curling mascara can compliment this.

To appear even more awake, apply a small amount of white eyeshadow on the inner corner of your eyes. Unless you have plenty of time to apply your make up, avoid heavy black eyeliner or dark coloured eyeshadow: unless applied properly they will look messy, and dark colours will only accentuate any dark circles you have around your eyes.

Instead of using foundation, which can be a real time-consumer, just use a concealer to blend the area under your eyes . Another way to save time is by using products for more than one area of your face—a light pink lip gloss can also be used as a cream blush or eyeshadow. To protect your face, always apply a layer of moisturiser (with SPF) first. This can give your skin a little lift and make it appear fresher.

Finally, don't forget that tried and tested mummy trick of always carrying a lipstick in your handbag. Choose a colour that compliments your skin tone: if you have a pale complexion opt for a warm coloured lipstick. However if you tend to have a ruddy complexion, or get red cheeks, opt for a lip colour that has cool blue undertones. On the days when you just don't have to time to do anything else, slick on your lippie as you run out of the door, and all attention will be detracted from those bags under your eyes!

But remember: being a mum does not mean sacrificing beauty. With a few tweaks to your daily routine, you can walk out the door looking and feeling brighter.....
