What do you call your lady garden?
Elizabeth Hurley, Ellie Goulding and Anna Friel have all posted photos of themselves sporting charity jumpers on Instagram to raise awareness of Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month.
Designed by Black Score, the 'Lady Garden' campaign aims to raise awareness among young women about gynaecological cancer and the symptoms.
Money raised by the Gynaecological Cancer Fund will go towards researching the cancer. In the UK 20,000 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer, including ovarian, womb, cervical, vaginal and vulval, every year. More than 7,700 of these women will die.
The 'Lady Garden' jumpers are being sold in Topshop for £28, with 30 per cent of proceeds going to the Fund. By drawing attention to the 'lady garden' area with its design, the campaign hopes to empower women to talk about their bodies and gynaecological problems.
These types of cancers are often diagnosed too late, but can be caught earlier if women look out for the symptoms and talk about their bodies more. Every day more than 50 women find out their diagnosis of the condition, and 21 families lose a woman they love.
