Video: Expecting Life

Fertility is constantly in the news – but too rarely we hear the human stories behind the statistics

Video still

Whether it's fertility MOTs or NHS cut backs on IVF treatment, fertility is constantly in the news – but not often enough do the statistics tell the whole story of the people and the emotions behind the headlines.

This National Fertility Awareness Week, fertility specialist Emma Cannon has released the video 'Expecting Life', highlighting the personal experiences of some of her clients and encouraging people to talk about their fertility experiences.

Women are increasingly likely to be denied IVF under the NHS; less than one in five areas offer the recommended three cycles of treatment to women. But with awareness campaigns like National Fertility Awareness Week and Emma's video, hopefully we will someday be able to talk more openly about fertility struggles.
