Starbucks promises to support mums

Starbucks has signed up to a campaign to get businesses to do more to help mums who are feeding young children

Whether it’s breastfeeding, bottle feeding or feeding in a high chair, Starbucks is the first retailer to sign up to a National Childbirth Trust (NCT) campaign to get businesses to do more to support mums feeding little ones. Hear, hear!

Staff in more than 800 stores will be trained to support the needs of parents with young children and create an environment where mums can feed their baby without being judged, for example by doing things like helping to carry equipment, find private and comfortable seating and offer to warm bottles.

It’s also committed to improving information for parents about the location of baby changing facilities or the nearest facilities where these are available, and improving store design with parents in mind.
