Time to trade in their unwanted toys
Ever have the feeling that forgotten toys are taking over your house? You're not alone! Today's youngsters have on average 69 per cent more toys than their parent's generation, and according to a survey carried out by Argos of over 1,000 mums and dads, they only play with around half of them. Sound familiar? Then why not help some of Britain's most vulnerable children by taking part in the Argos Toy Exchange, in partnership with Barnardo's.
Simply drop off any unwanted toys at Argos stores and receive a £5 voucher towards the cost of new ones (when you spend over £35) - just in time for Christmas! Your donated toys will then be sold in Barnardo's shops to raise money for the children's charity.
Helping launch the campaign, which aims to raise £1miillion in fundraising revenue for Barnardo's, is TV personality Denise Van Outen. 'Being a mum myself I know how important it is that children have toys, not only to enjoy but also to help them learn and develop,' she said. 'As we start to think about Christmas it is the perfect time to help those in need.' Now there's the perfect excuse for starting that much-needed clear out.
Head to the Argos website for more information about the Argos Toy Exchange.
