If your baby has no teeth yet, don’t worry they will arrive. Most babies will cut a tooth before their first birthday but many wait until after. Read our Teething guide for more informarion. Once they do start to appear they will come in quick succession and soon there will be a whole mouth full of pearly (milky) whites.
He may be able to respond to his name around the ten month stage and reacts when the phone rings and may even know a few common words like cup, ball or bye-bye. He probably won’t be able to say them yet though. He should be able to look at pictures if someone is pointing and talking to them and may repeat sounds you make. It is fascinating for parents of ten month olds to realise just how much they learn every day.
This month your baby will probably try standing alone and should be pretty proficient at cruising between furniture.
