My name is Lizzie and I am the Health and Parenting Advisor for Mothercare. My job involves advising our buyers, technologists and designers on pregnancy, feeding, baby and child development. Before I worked for Mothercare I trained as a maternity nurse and nanny working for many years with babies and children in many different settings. I also have two children, Becky and Alex whom have greatly added to my understanding of parenting e.g.what works in theory maybe quite different in reality! For example giving birth I planned for a drug free, natural birth but ended up having 2 cesareans (transverse lie) with both my babies and with Breastfeeding - I had enough books and knowledge but I had every problem you could possibly have with Alex but with Becky my 2nd, it was so easy I was delighted I gave it another try. I hope I can help any gurgle members with any practical help and support they need.
