My name is Nifa McLaughlin and I am the editor of gurgle. I am also mum to a toddler called Ivy Meabh. Ivy was born five weeks early by Ceasarean section because she was breech and I had pre-eclampsia which was getting progressively worse. Ivy was a tiny 4lbs 7oz, but luckily she didn't have to go into intensive care. She did need feeding all the time because her stomach was so small and she had a touch of jaundice too. I exclusively breastfeed her and she continued to put lots of weight on. Now she's a healthy 24 month old, walking, almost talking.... I am also pregnant with my second baby. It's definitely tough being a working pregnant mum with a toddler but I'm very glad the morning sickness and pregnancy tiredness have stopped and I can enjoy the second trimester now and that lovely feeling of my baby kicking!
