Hello there, I am a single mum working as hard as I can to ensure I do the best for my baby, luckily with the support of my family. My Mum has been my rock helping me out financially even though I work as many hours possible!! But mainly she helps me emotionally. Emma wasn't planned, i had only known her father for a month before I fell pregnant, then after six weeks of lies he finally left without any reason. But thats old news!! Emma has been the best thing to happen to me, hard very hard work, but worth every minute. Even when i was pregnant she was hard work, always kicking and keeping me awake! I was working so many hours at work that my pregnancy flew by! Then something changed...couldn't put my finger on it but i felt weird. Then the swelling started, my feet were HUGE! I was so swollen i didn't have any ankles! My midwife noticed in straight away..my blood presure had gone up and i had protein in my urine. Uh oh! Pre eclampsia was the diagnosis. So i was taken to hospital feeling fine and that i was a waste of time, doctor confirmed my midwife's diagnosis, and then one night at the hospital turned into a week...and then i was induced!! Huge shock as i was only 37 weeks at the time. My labour wasn't too bad, took a while to be induced as everytime i had a contraction Emma's heart beat decreased, and by the end there were six strangers in the room including the consultant, as her heart rate was dropping so low with each contraction. Thankfully she was born a healthy 5lb 4oz, small but perfect! Emma wouldn't sleep anywhere else but on me after she was born, so sleep for me was a HUGE problem as i just could not put her down without her screaming non stop. But now she's much older she finally sleeps during the day..in her cot! And most importantly at night! But it has taken so much time and effort for that to be possible! Anyway, i am hoping to go to Uni next year! But for now i am happy spending time with my gorgeous girl xx
