All milks and formula contain carbohydrates in the form of sugars, which provides a good source of energy for your baby. Follow a good dental health routine from the start - gently brushing your baby's teeth as soon as a tooth appears to prevent tooth decay. After 12 months there is no need to use a bottle - beakers are much better for your baby's dental health. Also speak to your health visitor for further advice. Lizzie
I have been frantically looking for a glucose or sugar free baby formula and have not found any. I wonder if there is one out there? I keep reading about keeping sugar away from babies as it may damage their teeth later in life but why put sugar or derivatives in baby formula? I breastfeed at the moment but wanted to have a backup just in case I couldn't be home in time from work. Any suggestions?
