The first year of your baby's life is one of fascination, discovery and learning. Your baby turns from a helpless infant into a budding explorer eager to learn new mobilty skills and gain a sense of independence. You'll encounter first foods, first smiles and giggles, first crawls, standing and perhaps even walking! But lets not forget you; the first year of babyhood sees you changing from a nervous new mum, to a confident mother adept at multi-tasking, nursery rhyme singing and soothing your little one. Here we guide you through every week of your baby's first year with hints on what to expect and how to encourage those all important milestones.

Why not chat to other mums about this, or other topics, by leaving a message on our chat forum. Alternatively, if you want to meet other mums in your area with similar age babies, visit our people section of the site to find out what is happening in your area or join a group. If you have any unanswered questions, use our questions page to gain wisdom from other mums or our resident experts for all those pregnancy or baby-related niggles.
