You may notice your baby becoming very active, particularly after you have eaten. The best thing about being able to feel your baby kick is that you can monitor your baby on a daily basis and feel reassured with every move. Fat is forming under your baby’s skin that will eventually help to keep her warm after she is born. Newborn babies find it hard to regulate their body temperatures, which is why the maternity ward is always so hot! Your baby is about 23cm this week and studies show she can now respond to touch. If you prod your lower abdomen you may feel your baby squirming away and at your antenatal checks when the midwife feels your stomach, you may notice your baby kicking to get away! You may find you feel heavier in the afternoon when you are more bloated and your body retains more water, so if you can, make sure you sit down more or have an afternoon nap. This week may be the week you say goodbye to seeing your toes for a while
