Sometime soon your cervix will begin to dilate in order to prepare for the birth of your baby.
Some women experience a ‘show’, which is when the mucus plug at the top of the cervix dislodges when the cervix starts to dilate. Although it does not mean labour is going to start straight away, it is a sign that labour is imminent. By now you will have become aware that your breasts are noticeably bigger, your nipples darker and the area around them (the areola) will have changed size. The line running from your belly button down to your navel is also darker. All these changes are unique to pregnancy and will disappear once your baby is born
