Tips to relieve pain of teething gums
Help ease the discomfort and pain your baby goes through whilst their baby teeth break through their gums
Teething is a stressful and exhausting time for both parents and babies. For your baby it's the discomfort and pain they have to go through whilst their baby teeth break through their gums and for parents it's that feeling of helplessness, when nothing really seems to take away their pain.
One obvious sign that usually means your baby maybe teething is when they chew their fingers or generally anything they can get their hands on.
So to help you, we have gathered some great tips from our mummy community as well as experience we have from being mums ourselves.
1. Chewing something seems to offer them the most relief. Why not try the new range of Koo-di Baby Choos Teethers. Made from food grade silicone, they are non-toxic, phthalate free and dishwasher friendly. They are just the right size for a baby to hold and the textured surface will massage sore little gums (Tip: Pop in the fridge for couple of hours and will cool babies gums down.) RRP £7.99.
2. Constant dribbling is normal during teething but usually means yours and your baby's clothes become very soggy. A super absorbent bib is a must to keep clothes dry and for wiping baby's face to prevent them getting a rash. There are lots of very sweet little bibs and stylish baby bandanas available and we would suggest to have one on all the time to avoid the need to be changing clothes often during a day.
3. Frozen cucumber, fruit or melon to chew on has been a very popular tip from mums, and of course not forgetting the teething biscuits.
4. Distracting your baby can help take their mind off the pain. Whilst you are out and about our Koo-di Baby Choos Teething Necklace for Mums', is stylish yet practical. While holding your baby they can chew away on your necklace to soothe their painful gums. RRP £12.99.
Crying is the most distressing thing for both you and your baby. Lots of cuddles may not take away the pain but can be very comforting for you both.
Every baby is different and the time and intensity of teething will be different. If your baby is really suffering see your doctor, they will be able to recommend a gum gel that is suitable and safe for your baby.
