Feeding your baby peanut butter could prevent allergies

Being exposed to peanut products at an early age could stop children from developing nut allergies later on

The idea that feeding your child peanut products could prevent them from developing a nut allergy has been backed up by new research.

A new study has found that exposing little ones to peanut products could cut the risk of developing an allergy by 80 per cent.

The study found that if a child has eaten peanut snacks within their first 11 months of life, then by five years old they could stop eating them entirely for a year and still not develop an allergy, suggesting that children can become protected from these allergies and the effect is long-lasting.
