Breastfeeding doesn't affect IQ

Breastfeeding is no better then bottle feeding when it comes to IQ, a new study has found.

Breastfeeding

The study at Goldsmiths, University of London, found that breastfeeding had no significant effect on IQ at age two, suggesting IQ differences in early life can't be attributed to breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding was also unrelated to IQ gains after the age of two, indicating that breastfeeding doesn't make brains grow better over time.

Children's IQ differences are instead better explained by long-term factors like family backgrounds and schooling, the study concluded.
