The sun is great, but it can be worrying if you have a newborn so try these handy ways to enjoy the sun with the peace of mind your baby is protected from the hot rays of the sun.
Choose cool clothing
When setting out with your newborn, ensure he is dressed with cool clothing on, you can always add blankets or layers of clothing if you think he's getting cold, but make sure he's comfortable in the warm weather.
Always use sunblock
Even if the sun doesn't appear to be that strong, always ensure your newborn has sunblock on, topping up areas such as his face that is more exposed to the sun.
Invest in a parasol or cover for your buggy
If you are planning to make the most of walking with your newborn, it is a good idea to invest in a parasol or cover for your buggy that is adjustable for you to angle it to protect your baby from the direct glare of the sun.
Carry plenty of bottles of water with you
Make sure you have more than enough sterilised bottles with water prepared if you are out and about in the sun. Your newborn maybe more thirsty in the heat even between feeds.

Getting a hat for your newborn is the safest way of protecting your baby's head from the sun. And with many adorable options around they can be a great accessory to your baby's outfit as well as protecting him from the sun.
