Dress up for World Book Day
Dress up and donate for libraries in Africa this World Book Day
Does your tot love the BFG, or are they more a fan of The Very Hungry Caterpillar?
Just in case you missed it, World Book Day is coming up soon (3 March). What better opportunity to dress up the diddy ones as their favourite book characters?
It’s so easy – and Book Aid International has even come up with a bundle of dress-up sheets with easy step-by-step instructions to make sure your tot’s costume shines. The BFG and Tom Gates have been added to the collection that already includes Gangsta Granny, Angelina Ballerina. The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Willy Wonka.
And all they ask is for you to donate £1 at the same time. It only costs £2 for Book Aid International to send a brand new book to a library or school in Africa, and last year children and schools raised over £115,000.
Every year, Book Aid International provides up to one million new books donated by UK publishers to libraries in sub-Saharan Africa. Many of the children they go to don’t own a single book and may never have seen a picture book before. So why not dress up the little ones for a good cause?
