The five best UK sea-view campsites

Beach resort

Shell Island, Gwynedd

A setting as magical as its name, this site has 300 acres for camping on Snowdonia's coast, including clifftop pitches, sheltered fields near the facilities and spots among the dunes – all close to the beach. It also has its own supermarket and restaurant.

Caffyns Farm, Devon

Set on Exmoor's beautiful coast, two of the five fields are perfect for families as they're totally enclosed, with facilities nearby and just a short walk to the beach – not to mention campfires, bike hire and visits
to the farm's animals.

Camusdarach, Inverness-shire

Only 42 pitches, and miles and miles of white sandy beaches with views to Skye, Rhum and Eigg, which you can reach via ferry or small boat respectively from nearby Mallaig. Facilities include an on-site shop and free wi-fi.

Hollins Farm, Arnside

This campsite is sandwiched between Morecambe Bay and the Lake District in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Throw in a local restaurant, fresh eggs and even two family pods if you hate canvas.

Pinewoods Holiday Park, Wells-next-the-SeaWells-next-the-Sea

Right on the beach, with pitches for tents as well as lodges and static caravans. And you're only a miniature train ride away from Wells-next-the-Sea itself.
