We hurtled through January at great speed, with lots of New Year's resolutions already broken - obviously! Although I have managed to keep one! My weekly runs with my mate on a Monday morning.
Even though it's freezing, gossiping our way through the mud and fog, breathless and exhausted, somehow they always ends up fun. And now, I'm finally trying out Barry's boot camp, which I hate to say has become slightly addictive. Pounding the tread mill and being shouted at through bellowing tunes is somehow an exhilarating way to keep fit!
But, like everyone I yearned for January to pass quickly, so we can look forward to spring. Unless there is a hint of some snow on the horizon, I am not interested in winter post Christmas! With the magic all but disappeared I have to muster up the enthusiasm for the children's sake.
So to cheer ourselves up we have decided to think about planning for their birthdays. With all three of the girlies celebrating in March and April, there is a lot to organise. So far we have a One Direction themed party for Daisy - basically a disco with cardboard cut-outs of her heroes. An arty crafty party for little Petal (not sure I have ever seen a 4 year old so savvy with scissors, Pritt stick and shiny diamond squares in all my life)! And thankfully Pops just wants to hang out in the garden with her mates. Easy enough, job done!
Obviously we have to get through Valentine 's Day, Shrove Tuesday, half term, and the Brit Awards! Actually, things are perking up a bit. Maybe frosty January isn't so bad after all!
We had THE most exciting event with Little Bird this week. We hosted a morning tea party for some fab bloggers who worked for various magazines and newspapers. I was so incredibly nervous as I am not so good with this side of the business, but actually the girls were all so lovely, and thankfully all loved our new Spring/Summer Collection for this year.
I really can't wait to show them off and get them into Mothercare ASAP! The little floral print cotton all in one playsuit is so cute, and the summer dresses with Peter Pan collars are so pretty. I literally cannot wait to dress Petal in them, and dare I say it, the teeny floral sleepsuits make me yearn to have baby number 5!
We were incredibly excited to find out that Little Bird has been featured in my 'style bible' blog on VOGUE.com! Such a fab write up. The team and I feel so extremely proud of Little Bird! Yippee! Unfortunately on a very different note Jamie and I have now got to take Buds to the doctor.
He has stuck two bean bag ball fillers down his ear! After briefly considering the mini Dyson as an extraction instrument, we have decided to leave it to the professionals! Obviously all this dressed in a Batman costume (him - not Jamie!) Who said January was a dull month? Not in the Oliver house hold obviously!
Lots of love Jools xxxx
