Help protect little eyes this summer

Ensuring your child's eyes are protected is just as important as protecting their skin.

Remembering to protect our little ones' skin and cover them in sunblock is an essential part of summer with children. But we also need to ensure our little ones eyes are protected in the sunny weather.

Protecting young eyes from UV rays this summer is important, and Boots Opticians is now including their Ultratough UV lenses as standard in every pair of glasses.

What you may not realise is that children's eyes are particularly susceptible when it comes to UV, with evidence suggesting up to 70% more light reaches the retina than in an adult's eye, scary but true.

The Ultratough lenses are worth £40, they filter UV rays from the front and back, are scratch resistant, let's face it, kids need hard-wearing glasses, and include anti-reflection too.

With every pair of glasses from Boots Opticians now coming with UV protection, as standard, parents can rest assured that their child's eyes are protected - even when its overcast, when up to 40% of UV rays still penetrate through the clouds, fact!
