Children more likely to eat dinner if it looks fun

Surprise, surprise - nearly 90 per cent of UK children would be more likely to eat their food if it looks fun on the plate.

Considering 67 per cent of British parents struggle with children who refuse to eat what's put in front of them, it's something worth thinking about!

Making mealtimes fun and engaging by being a bit creative is well known by mums to make mealtimes less stressful – and now we have the statistics to back it up.

Over 75 per cent of parents admitted to using their initiative and getting creative with how they arrange their children's food on the plate. 43 per cent make smiley faces on the plate, 30 per cent spell out words – but nearly half (47 per cent) regularly use the threat of no pudding to get their little ones to finish a meal.

The research was commissioned by Bernard Matthews, famous for its Turkey Dinosaurs launched in 1992, the same year as the first Jurassic Park film, and surveyed 1,000 mums and dads, and over 1,000 children.
