Picky eating could be a sign of something serious

Picky eating could be a sign of something serious

From cutting off crusts to cutting out certain colours, dinnertime can be full of stresses – and research suggests it could be a sign of something more serious.

Tots trying new foods

The study has suggested that picky eating can be a sign of a propensity towards depression, anxiety and ADHD later in life.

Food fussiness can even trigger social issues in children. Among the worst cases, including children who only eat foods of certain colours, textures and brands, the children couldn't go to birthday parties, school canteens or attend any overnight activities because of their limited diet.

But don't panic – it's not just fussiness. We're talking gagging at the introduction of new foods they deem repulsive. But if you're truly struggling, you feel like you've tried everything and it's becoming impossible for your little one to eat outside the home, then it may be time to look into professional help.
