Light Fantastic

They might have the look of a futuristic teether about them but these oddly shaped things are actually the latest thing in night lights for tots. They're stable enough to stand on a shelf or, because of the ring shaped handle, you can hang them on a door, within easy reach of your little ones trying to find their way to your room in the middle of the night (it's always good when that happens, no?) They don't get hot but they do morph through a range of delightful colours (or if you think your baby might find that too distracting, you can set them to stay just one colour). Fully charged they'll stay lit for a full 12 hours.

Love Bombing

Clinical child psychologist Oliver James has brought out a new book to accompany his previous titles, the acclaimed Affluenza and They F*** You Up. Released on Friday 28th September, ‘Love Bombing – Reset Your Child’s Emotional Thermostat’  offers a new method for parents to help their children, whether the problem be big or small. Written for parents of children aged from 3 to puberty, Love Bombing puts the child in charge and enables it to feel loved.

It helps parents understand what the child needs even if the problem is mild, like shyness or underperformance at school, or whether extreme, like temper tantrums, hyperactivity or even Asperger’s Syndrome, Love Bombing can make a huge difference. And the best thing is, there is no naughty step.

Love Bombing-Reset Your Child's Emotional Thermostat, by Oliver James £8.97,
