Mums share their top tips to tackle eczema
If your little one doesn't suffer from eczema you probably know one who does, so getting some helpful tips is always welcome
And no one knows babies like mums so who better to ask to share their tried and tested tips to help eczema than mums. Here are our mums' top tips for little eczema sufferers.
'Both my boys have eczema and the youngest used to scratch his skin raw. I found that applying moisturiser every time I change his nappy seems to stop the itching. I have a bottle of cream in every room. We use Aveeno, and Shea Mooti do a lovely balm that I keep in the change bag.'
Stephanie, mum to Oliver, 4 and Benjamin, 1
'One of the worst triggers for my daughter was shampoo – Green People's Organic Children Lavender Burst shampoo was one of the few that didn't affect her. Even if her Nana washed her hair just once with something different she would break out. Sunscreen also set her off and again, the Organic Children scent-free' cream did the trick.'
Jacqui, mum to Kate, 6
'Set the washing machine for an extra rinse to make sure no powder is left on their clothes. And use Aveeno products. They're easy to apply, smell nice, don't ruin their' clothes– and they work.'
Nicola, mum to Daisy, 3
'My son suffered terrible with eczema when he was a baby, I swore by washing him in Aqueous cream and making sure I dabbed his skin dry after the bath really gently. I couldn't have any other forms of soap or bubble bath in the bath with him, his skin would flair up if anything else was used.'
Susan, mum to Martha, 8 and Daniel, 5
