Regular exercise before conception can help stave off pregnancy pains

Exercise

Regular exercise before conception can stave off pregnancy pains.

Research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that women who exercise between three and five times a week before trying for a baby have a 14 per cent lower risk of developing pelvic pains in pregnancy.

Exercise that's high impact like running, ball games and aerobics can help prevent pelvis girdle pain, which happens when the joints and ligaments around the pelvis change during pregnancy.

Up to one in five women suffer from pelvis pain during pregnancy, and it can leave some women struggling to walk or sleep.

Myleene Klass suffered agonising back pain when pregnant with her son Hero and had to undergo physiotherapy to overcome it.
